A redesign of previous game: Cosmoscrawler
So, here's the skinny- I made Cosmoscrawler as a challenge to myself. How small could I write a complete contained game that had depth, nuance and 'scope' to play as an 'enjoyable' tabletop game.
And if I'm to toot my own horn a little, I think I did a great job, however...
After playing Cosmoscrawler a little, I realised that, in my own way, I'd blinded myself to the final part of that desire: playing it didn't feel fun. Sure it had everything I wanted and, technically, I still think it's great, but it felt stale to play. I'm my own harshest critic (because so far nobody else has offered feedback...) and this wasn't sitting well with me. The reason I make games is to have fun, not to recreate 'work' or bookkeeping tedium.
And so, it was with this irksome brain-worm that I needed to revised that game, and made this: Cosmosdasher - it is at the very essence of the game the same as it was before, but I twisted parts of it until they fell off, and then anything left I asked: "is this fun?" and beat it with the designers nerf-bat until it was (or at least until I thought it is!)
This is a PWYW game, but I've spent a long time on this and, if you download and play it --- and if you ENJOY it, please consider donating a little, even small donations really means a lot to me.
